Took “Ship Faced” out on a beautiful day to catch some Mahi and Wahoo. Headed toward Ocracoke Rock Pile when we found a beautiful weed line with a one degree temperature change. Started trolling and within minutes the drag was screaming. All were good sized Mahi and the action was non stop. After putting 18 in the boat we decided to look for a Wahoo and sure enough before long the line was screaming. After DK fought the hoo Matt gaffed him and slung him in the boat. He ended up weighing around 33 pounds, not a monster, but a good fish anyway.
Trolled Medium and small ballyhoo that I had brined the night before. They did not care what color rig we used and destroyed anything we put out. A great time was had by all and many pounds of fish went into the freezer.
