Welcome to Tampa Bay Fishing Report. your go to place before you hit the water.

due to the cold fronts and the water temperature this time of year your best chances of a good bite inshore is going to be fishing residential canals during the high tide.

live Shrimp has been working best with a #4 split shot weight on a light inshore rod spooled with 10LB Braided line with a 15lb Flouro-carbon leader and a #4 hook .
Fishing the docks from Pinellas Point to Tierra Verde during this cold snap has produced Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Redfish and sheepshead.
Rocks and bridge structure are also holding plenty of Snapper and sheepshead.

Offshore fishing has been extremely productive if you can get out there safely. Captain Billy Nobles and Captain Glen Taylor have been showing off some very nice catches at the Marina

The good thing about the offshore bite at this time is that you don’t have to go out as far as you do during the summer to catch big fish.

They are catching Hogfish, Snapper, Grunts, Porgies, and BIG grouper all in about 40 to 50 feet of water. Make sure you check in on TampaBay fishing for all of your local fishing reports stories and the latest fishing news.
